Kailyn's Labor-intensive Day!

Kailyn and James and Marcus and several other fifth graders rolled huge stumps onto the natural trail.
The stumps will be used to form a circular seating area for an "outdoor classroom."

Leverage

Members of a Thursday afternoon group have made it their mission to
move this boulder. So far they've researched a few methods for moving heavy objects and we're all impressed by the power of a simple lever...

Hannaford Visit

We met with Ms. Kerman today. She's the dietitian at Hannaford.

Among other things, she talked to us about making informed, healthy food choices (and that can mean different things for different people).

She sent us on a scavenger hunt to gather food for a full day of meals. Marcus and Michael did some thoughtful puzzling over possible snack choices.

* Also, Thank you very much to all our chaperones! - Today Ms. Pardo, Ms. Pettis and Ms. Richards joined us! Hooray!

Carter's B-day Party!

Even though Carter can't be seen in this photo, we're dancing in his honor. A fun time was had by all!

2nd Trip to North Mill Pond

On the shore of the North Mill Pond, we relocated our original sites and sketched the same spot again, a month later. We compared these new sketches with the first ones to look for any changes...

A couple more Africa photos...

Top photo: buffalo grazing with a few passengers along for the ride.
Bottom: Shoebill Crane. This one is about 3 feet tall. A very wonderful, strange bird!
